Biomaterials

We develop methods for design of scaffolds, encapsulation of cells and design of micro tissues using stimuli-responive polymers. In one our approach we use polymer bilayers consisting of polymers with different swelling properties. The cells can be either adsorbed on polymer bilayer or encapsulated inside one of the layer. These polymers layers with cells form tube and other structures with cells inside. The tubes can be aligned and assembled together to form scaffolds for tissue engineering.
